Our Siemens Magnetom Verio is one of few 3T scanners in the Las Vegas Valley characterized as a short-bore, wide-bore system. This translates into over two feet (70 cm) of space for the patient within the magnet. This extra room helps to decrease anxiety in claustrophobic patients and allows larger patients to be scanned comfortably.  In addition to providing a positive patient experience, the open bore design has clinical advantages as well. A 50 cm field of view enables superb extremity imaging, including long bones and other traditionally difficult exams. The ultra-high 3T field also allows for a reduced contrast dose for exams that require a gadolinium injection.  3T is rapidly becoming the standard for neurological imaging with the ability to acquire images at higher resolutions and obtain additional information with the use of advanced imaging techniques. At CMI, we have embraced this type of progressive imaging, as seen in our CCSVI and advanced TBI protocols. Magnetic Resonance Angiography/Venography (MRA/V), Susceptibility Weighted Imaging (SWI), Perfusion Weighted Imaging (PWI) and flow quantification of CSF and vasculature of the head and neck are a few examples of the techniques that are used to compliment traditional diagnostic sequences. We are proud to be accredited by the American College of Radiology for Head, Spine, Body, MSK (musculosketal) and MRA examinations. Our 3T MR system is an accommodating versatile scanner that can provide an optimal patient experience and exceptional images.
